New PIDA Loans Aim to Create Jobs and Strengthen Local Economy |
The Shapiro Administration has announced a significant investment of nearly $4 million through the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) to stimulate business growth in Westmoreland County.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance economic development across the Commonwealth.
In Penn Township, Weaver Investments Inc. has been approved for a 10-year, $2,142,000 loan at a 4.25% reset interest rate.
The funds will be used to construct two 30,000-square-foot flex buildings within the Bushy Run Industrial Park.
These modern facilities will feature energy-efficient designs, including steel-frame structures, 30-foot clear heights, and LED lighting.
Notably, Sunbelt Rentals and East Penn Manufacturing have committed to occupying these spaces, indicating strong demand for high-quality industrial facilities in the region.
In Blair County, Yerty Auto Service, Inc. has been approved for a 15-year, $1,850,000 loan to acquire and renovate a 126,008-square-foot industrial facility in Altoona.
This expansion is expected to create 10 new full-time jobs and retain 22 existing positions, further contributing to the local economy.
Since taking office, Governor Josh Shapiro and his administration have secured over $35.9 billion in private sector investments, leading to the creation of more than 18,800 jobs.
These efforts underscore a commitment to making Pennsylvania a leader in economic development and job creation.
