Flat Tire Turns Fortunate: Westmoreland County Mom Hits $1 Million Jackpot |

A Westmoreland County mother is heading into Mother’s Day with an unforgettable surprise after winning $1 million on a Pennsylvania Lottery scratch-off ticket. Beth Dudley, 32, purchased the winning ticket at Crabtree Gas & Go, located at the Sunoco station along Roosevelt Way near Route 119 in Salem Township. Her unexpected win came shortly after dealing with a frustrating start to the day — a flat tire following a daycare drop-off for her toddler. “I stopped over here, grabbed a drink and a ticket, and won a million dollars,” Dudley said. “I had to check it four times before it really sank in.” Lottery officials visited the store on Friday to celebrate the big win and recognize the retailer. Crabtree Gas & Go will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket from the “Win Win Win” scratch-off game. The $10 game offers top prizes of $1 million, and Dudley managed to land the jackpot on a day that began with inconvenience but ended in celebration. As for what comes next, Dudley says she plans to be practical with her newfound fortune. “I’m going to get a new car,” she said. “But I’m also going to invest most of it. We want to make it grow.” |
