Chelsea Building Products has officially opened a new 228,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Madison, Pennsylvania, marking a significant milestone for the Oakmont-based company and its continued expansion across the region. The new site, known as Chelsea Building Products East, will play a key role in advancing the company’s manufacturing capabilities. It will focus on producing PVC-based window and door profiles while also featuring advanced blending and lamination operations designed to improve efficiency and product quality. The grand opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by employees, customers, local officials, and industry leaders. Among those present were CEO Peter Dewil, Vice President Gary Hartman, and Dan DeBone, President and CEO of the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce, along with representatives from parent company aluplast group. Strategically positioned near major transportation routes, the Madison facility is designed to streamline logistics and better serve customers across North America. In addition to extrusion operations, the site includes a modern blending center that will produce proprietary PVC compounds for both the Madison plant and the company’s facility in Greenville, Texas—further strengthening Chelsea’s integrated production network. Company leadership emphasized the broader impact of the investment, highlighting its role in supporting innovation, operational efficiency, and economic development in Western Pennsylvania. “Chelsea Building Products is continuing to invest in the future of manufacturing across Western Pennsylvania,” said CEO Peter Dewil. “This facility reflects our long-term commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable job creation in the communities where we operate.” The company expects the new facility to create between 100 and 150 jobs over the next five years, offering opportunities in skilled manufacturing, engineering, and operations. Vice President Gary Hartman noted that the expansion represents more than just increased capacity. “Opening this facility marks an important new chapter for Chelsea Building Products,” he said. “It enhances our flexibility, strengthens our supply network, and ensures we continue delivering the high performance our partners rely on.” |
