The former Cavaliers standout has turned early college success into a growing leadership role at Washington & Jefferson |

Former Kiski Area soccer standout Ally Zidek is continuing to build on the foundation she developed in Westmoreland County.
Now a sophomore at Washington & Jefferson College, Zidek has already earned all-conference recognition while establishing herself as a regular presence in the Presidents’ lineup.
She started all 18 matches as a freshman and received All-PAC Honorable Mention recognition for her work on defense.
This season, Zidek has continued in a starting role while focusing on organization, leadership and composure along the back line.
Her transition from high-school soccer to the college game has combined athletic growth with an ambitious academic path.
Zidek is studying biomedical science with a minor in engineering foundations and hopes to pursue a master’s degree in biomedical engineering.
She credits Washington & Jefferson’s balance of academics and athletics, along with the team environment, as important parts of her college experience.
Kiski Area remains an important part of her story, including memories of playing with a close-knit senior class and competing in several WPIAL playoff appearances.
Zidek’s progress is another example of a Westmoreland County student-athlete carrying local experience into the next level. |
